2025 – World Meditation Day-Collaborative Curtain-Raiser event with Brahmakumaris, House of Lords

This high-level event marking  UN World Meditation Day 2025 convened Members of Parliament, peers, representatives from the legal and medical professions, disability rights advocates, senior officials from the police and the British Army, as well as leaders from the arts, media and civil society.

Hosted by Lord Raval OBE and organised by the Brahma Kumaris in partnership with Sanskruti Centre of Cultural Excellence, the gathering took place in the presence of Sister Jayanti, Additional Administrative Head of the Brahma Kumaris.

The event examined the expanding role of meditation in enhancing individual well-being and fostering more cohesive, harmonious societies. Contributions highlighted its growing relevance across policy, healthcare, education and workplace environments. Attendees also heard evidence demonstrating the benefits of regular meditation practice, including reduced stress, improved emotional regulation, greater focus, and enhanced empathy- qualities widely regarded as essential for effective leadership and governance.
